WHAT INVESTORS NEED TO KNOW ABOUT REAL ESTATE INVESTMENTS
Real estate investment provides the widest possible range of choices of any form of investment. Throughout the acquisition, operation and disposition of a real estate investment, the investor (owner) is continuously faced with decisions regarding the investment that can influence the yield and the accumulation of wealth that it produces. At acquisition, the investor must decide not only which property to acquire but also how to acquire the property. At some point, the investor must also decide how to dispose of the property and what to do with the proceeds of disposition. Other choices the investor may consider during the ownership are refinancing, changing method of management, and converting use, along with may other decisions that could influence the yield of the investment. In order to make the most of the opportunities available to a specific real estate investment, the investor must identify all reasonable alternative courses of action. These aternatives must be evaluated to determine which is the most appropriate in terms of the investor's objective.
